Connecting people with water

IMG_4716.JPG

This project focused on underwater life in and around the Moray Firth.  The first stage of the investigation took place on beaches, harbors, and pond sides in the local area.

Meanderings and dialogues led to an interest in underwater life which in turn led to an invite to attend a talk about how marine animals use acoustics to communicate by one of the post-doctorate marine biologists at the University of Aberdeen’s Lighthouse Field Station in Cromarty.

The loan of hydrophones led the participants to respond to underwater sounds by creating beautiful drawings and audios were collected and made into a sound collage.
